How To

Import inventory from CSV

Move card stock from a spreadsheet into TCG STATS.

A CSV file is a spreadsheet saved in a simple format. Use it when your inventory already exists in Excel, Google Sheets or another inventory tool.

Before uploading

Keep one card or variation per row. Include as much identifying information as possible:

  • card name;
  • set or expansion;
  • collector number;
  • variation;
  • condition;
  • language;
  • quantity;
  • purchase price, if known;
  • storage location, if used.

Save or download the file as CSV.

Import the file

  1. Open Inventory.
  2. Open the import section.
  3. Start a new CSV import.
  4. Upload your file.
  5. Match each spreadsheet column to the correct TCG STATS field.
  6. Review the preview.
  7. Start the import.

Review before confirming

Pay special attention to:

  • cards with more than one possible match;
  • missing collector numbers;
  • holo and reverse holo variations;
  • language and condition;
  • quantities larger than expected.

Rows that need attention should be corrected before they become available inventory.

Common mistakes

  • Uploading an Excel .xlsx file instead of CSV.
  • Putting several different cards in one row.
  • Using marketplace listing titles instead of card names and collector numbers.
  • Treating empty quantity cells as one copy.
  • Skipping the review because most rows matched correctly.

For unclear matches, compare the physical card with the set symbol and collector number.
